I have had people make comments (and swear) at me and my children while in what appears to be increasingly adult-oriented public places, such as McDonald's and the grocery store. Most people can't tell by looking at my youngest son that he's autis...

doublemam said… - Sandy thanks for your advice. It makes a lot of sence. You are right I should take it day by day. I do have a good relationship with the teachers. I volunteer a couple a times a week. His SSN teacher will give my son extra work during breaks so he stays on schedule. I quess it is hard for others to know what my son is capable of. He has bad days and good days. I guess I just have to work hard on a good day and extra hard on a bad day. The good thing is my son loves to do homework , read books or any kind of work. We just have a lot of fun. I wish my daughter put that much effort in her schoolwork. Thanks Sandy for your advice.

It is not easy but it is nice to know that somebody understands.
My son is only 6 but we believe in his potential. I believe that he to one day will have a chance to go to college but it seems to be hard to convince some of his teachers of his potential. I am so happy your son is in college. I would love to know how you convinced the people that did not believed in his potential that any child should have a chance to proof them wrong.

it was impossible for me one day didn't make much difference gained maybe a pound have now restarted my diet again.
How are you defining "big families" for the purpose of your study? In some respect that's all relative, as some people consider 4 kids to be a big family and others not till there are 8 kids, or somewhere in between.
