Well, let's see~ I color my hair at home, so far no interesting colors! We don't go out to eat as often as we used to- which is maybe a good thing all the way around! I can honestly say that we are probably closer as a family, as we question a purch…

Carla~ That would be a fear of mine. That could happen if you purchased a used computer, as well. I wonder how many kids are exposed this way....Very interesting, but scary thought. Honesty is so important and helping our kids find their conscience-…

I think we have a long way to go when it comes to educating our teens and parents about what sexting actually is. Kids at such young ages use cell phones and really have no clue what types of issues they can get themselves into.

A MUST READ FOR EVERY WOMAN: "The Mom I Want To Be" By T. Suzanne Eller

OK~ I won this book on Christian Momlogic, what seems like many moons ago~ read it and WOW! Every woman should read this. We do not come from perfect families, andour past is often not always shiny. But we, as women have the opportunity to be leaders. Through forgiveness, we can be the Mom that we want to be. It is through forgiveness that a daughter can be a daughter she wishes to be....The list goes on and on......It is truly through our faith that we are able to drop the baggage from the past… Continue

Kids, Christmas and a New Year~this Mom says, "Bring It On!"

Are you and your kids on what seems to be one long Sunday, between Christmas and New Years? If you and your family are lounging on a beach, visiting the Mouse, or skiing in Vail, you are probably just wishing your vacation time will never end. But, for most of us, we are at work; dealing with kids on school break, and trying to figure out how to pay those Christmas bills off! Personally, I can't wait for 2010- Bring it on! With all of the economic challenges of 2009, I think we are all ready for… Continue

This Mom is staying sane between Thanksgiving and Christmas!

Ok~ This Mom has played the game of let's do "it all" during the Christmas Season. Now that I am 43 years old and my boys are 18 and 14, this Mom says, "No More." Sure, there are some activities on the family calendar that are a Must. So, what MUST a family partake in:

The Christmas music program at school
The Sunday School program at church
The rehearsals for these two events
The occasional school band concert
Collecting donations for your local food bank and delivering them

So, what can a fa… Continue

Not sure what this Mom witnessed- AMA Awards 2009!

OK~ My 14 year old really, really wanted to see Green Day perform on the 2009 AMA Awards. I have to admit it- this 40 something Mom does like Green Day. The language in the songs is pretty dicey at times- BUT- I like their music! Of course, Green Day performed towards the end- and wouldn't you know it- Adam Lambert's performance was shortly after. I was thinking to myself- during his freaked out performance- Garrett why didn't you go to bed? I could not believe that something like that would eve… Continue

H1N1 Vaccine craziness

Ok~ This Mom is trying to understand when/how some people will ever get vaccinated with the H1N1 vaccine. I know there are thousands of people that want the vaccine, but are unable to, due to supply issues. A recent dilemma brought to my attention- In our community, caregivers of infants under six months old have qualified for special clinics. But, should that caregiver be over 49 years old, have asthma, or have a cold- they will have to be vaccinated at a later date. Therefore, I'm sure many th… Continue
