Hi Stacey
"Draggin' Mom" here. Thanks for your comments. I've heard stories of parents who remember their rebellious years, and how it seems to help them with their teens. Unfortunately that's no use to me. I have not been able to relate at all to that scene, because I grew up with an alcoholic mom and all we could do every day is figure out how to survive and try and get her to love us. Never worked, and we didn't all survive. I've just been so shocked and hurt at the things my kids have said and done to me that I knew I couldn't make it through with the fifth one. And these are all mine, no steps. I brought each one of these beings into the world (all natural labor - no drugs were going to touch my kids!), nursed each one of them two years, the whole earth mother thing, etc. I just became a big joke to them. Not all stories have happy endings, as you can see just reading the Bible. I've already lost one grandbaby because my alcoholic daughter couldn't pull herself together in spite of four years of intervention from me and a slew of Christians, therapists, social workers, family members, etc., trying to help her. Her parental rights were terminated, and I don't know where my little grandbaby is. Well, enough of that. Even Jesus wept, and I guess I'm weeping in cyberspace because no one seems to want to see when you're sad, only happy. Thanks for taking the time to write me. God bless your family and your new baby on the way.
