White noise sounds like rushing air and is perfect for adults, children, and babies who are having trouble sleeping.
Right now my little one is still at home so we are doing everything that we can to get her prepared for going to school next year, but learning all of the basics. She also loves to read so it would be great to win this gift.

I checked out the machines on the Cd and they don't sound as pure as the machine. It is basically to drown out noises in the house so that she can sleep a little better without hearing everything going on in the house. I will check out radio shack...
all you need for 'white noise' is a vaccuum cleaner or static on a radio. they both work just fine as white noise with our baby
I believe Radio Shack has them, not sure how much they are though. We used it at the day care I used to work at to drown out the noise in the baby room for the ones who were trying to sleep and it worked wonders!

I have been actively looking for a white noise machine most seem to range from $25 and up. If anyone has a machine that they would be interested in selling that is no longer being used please let me know. I really need to get one asap...
