PraiseWalker The Amazing Walker

We’ve lived in our neighborhood for about 12 years now. Soon after we moved in we noticed an older oriental gentleman walking in the area. My guess is that he has an artificial leg - or at best, a leg that is mostly lame. The amazing thing is, this man walks everywhere. We’ve often seen him miles away from home, with a backpack slung over one shoulder, baseball cap on his head, limping along. He always has a big smile, and is happy for conversation, though his English is very poor. Read more h… Continue

Liz Erickson Hello Mrs. Erickson, this is Mike's Principal!...again

Our son Mike seemed to always get into some kind of trouble when he was little and in 3rd grade elementary school. We had just moved from a few towns away. Great question! Did you know that a teen's brain is still d

PraiseWalker Diligence

I'm going to briefly "interrupt" our series on "The Spirit of Poverty" to share with you a lesson that God has me working on right now in my life.

I’m one of those people who doesn’t live life in a straight line. I tend to meander. I am a pioneer by nature, and love to discover new things. I love to try my hand at different adventures, and to explore

Brenda Nixon Spanking Debate

Spanking is a furiously debated issue and one that may begin for you in these early years. Parents, both for and against the practice, herald research and quote childrearing experts who support their position. I've met parents who are militant in their stance and condemn others for opposing views. As a speaker, I've been criticized by a few audience members because I didn't tell parents to spank as an act of love and godly parenting. Some Christian parents claim the Bible commands them to spank… Continue

When your child has a meltdown in the grocery store, what do you do? When your teen says those words, "I hate you", how do you react? If you are short-term parenting, you respond to the moment. You might get angry. You might have your own melt down. You may feel frustrated or overwhelmed. But long-t… Continue
