This morning my sister emailed me a disturbing article that literally made me sick to my stomach. I want to pose the question: We have almost 500 members in our group, surely one of you can advise us on how we can do our part in helping to put an end to this kind of abuse. Maybe someone is a social worker and deals with these types of situations on a regular basis or maybe one of you knows of or belongs to an organization that wants to spread the word about this type of crime and how we can prev…

We were asked recently whether we think children's self esteem is less robust than in the past. In fact we do think children's self esteem is perhaps more fragile than in previous generations which may seem strange given that there is now a much more child-centred approach to parenting than a generation ago and an increased awareness of how important a healthy self esteem is to so many outcomes for children.
Parents receive lots of parenting advice these days and are more likely to be reading p…

It's on it's way; in fact, it's being perfected as my fingers move, but still, we've got questions. Do you have a moment, Mama???
Whats most important to you as a parent when it comes to Playtime? That the toys are FUN, or EDUCATIONAL?
IF a toy was proven to teach your child to read 80% faster than children in the same age group, and kept them approximately 2 grade levels ahead in Reading and Comprehension, would you consider purchasing it (if your children are older, would you have considered…

I know firsthand was life as an angry mom is like. I spent almost two years trying to control my temper and failing miserably. It took a confrontation with someone close to me for me to really take a good, hard look in the mirror and realize that the problem was bigger than me. My anger was out of control. I had turned into someone that I didn’t recognize and my family was suffering because of it.
Soon after that confrontation, my kids and I were in the doctor’s office because one of them was s…

Please check out this group on Facebook, and explore the discussion boards. I'll admit, the group was named after me by a very dear friend who is trying to help me. I'm no begger, and I'm not lazy. I'm a good man, and a dedicated, divorced father to my 3 small kids. All that I ask is that you take a look.

Sincerely and thankfully,

Sundays are usually the same old same old. We take the kids (Hails, Ted and Bails) to Grandma's, do our laundry, let the boys play run wild in the backyard, shop for weekly groceries, and enjoy some homemade cooking. Now I know that this routine sounds SUPER BORING, but it's truly something I look forward to every week. Why you ask? It's simple, I never had that grandma/pa bond that children have with their grandparents. My hubby had it with his maternal grandmother and he's always illustrated i…

When I come through the front door with arm loads of groceries (IN plastic bags, too, because I forgot my "hippy bags" at home), please don't continue to sit on the couch and drink your beer because "the movie is almost over."
And, when I walk back outside to retrieve MORE groceries, don't continue to sit on the couch. I don't care if you were getting ready to get up, just get up and help. And, when you see that I've shut & locked the front door, please don't ask me if there are more grocer…

I was sitting here today, looking back at all the things that God Brought Me Through up till today! Have you ever done that? It is amazing the things that God does in your life, even the rough spots we walk through.
You see in 1999 I went from having a marriage, working for god in my ministry with the TV Show and helping others then I got hurt and ended up Homeless, marraigless, Great Pain and not knowing what Direction to walk next. Jesus was there with me, I had Him to direct my path.
God…
