We love
The Real Housewives of New Jersey! Hell, we love all "real" housewives for that matter. Today, the definition of housewife has taken on a whole new meaning, as evidenced at our event this past Friday night with the stars of The Real Housewives of NJ. Before we share the fabulous details of our evening, or dish on Dina Manzo and her sister, know this: According to Wikipedia (our trusted definition resource), "Housewife is a term used to describe a married female who is not employed…

The past Thursday marked the culmination of a very exciting 10 days at MyWorkButterfly.com. The "Nick Lachey Dream Dinner Date Charity Auction" pulled in $10,600! Thank you to those who bid in an effort to raise money for VH1 Save The Music Foundation and its mission to keep music education in America's public schools. Please know that we are mindful to those who did not have the financial means to turn this opportunity into a reality. Our mission was two-fold: to raise money and to generate awa…

There are lots of solo "philosophy" blogs by individuals who claim to be "mavericks" and the like; most, alas, are repositories of philosophical mistakes. Clayton Littlejohn, a philosopher at the University of Texas at San Antonio, is the exception that proves the rule. A nice window into how a smart young philosopher thinks about problems in epistemology and ethics. Also includes amusing political and cultural commentary.

Thelma, you have had a successful banking and corporate career. You’ve spoken all over the country and around the world, done a lot of radio interviews, had your own television show, and written a lot of books. Many of our readers will be familiar with you from the Women of Faith conferences. It seems you’ve “done it all.” So when you left Women…

iF you are looking to get healthier and want to make some money on the side, then you should know about MonaVie. Watch the videos below to hear all about it. It did 3 things for me personally...1. It got me off caffeine. I have so much energy and I no longer depend on my morning cup of Joe. 2. It cleared up my skin 3. It helps me stay regular, if youknow what I mean.

According to Wikipedia, a partnership is a type of business entity in which partners (owners) share with each other the profits or losses of the business. Although, Terry and I will tell you that our partnership extends far beyond this textbook definition. This past weekend Terry scored an interview with Jill Zarin, star of the Real Housewives of NYC. The interview was scheduled for July 4 at 2pm at the home of Jill Zarin in Sag Harbor, aka "The Hamptons." Terry loaded her family into the car, v…

"Love is always real. It belongs to the giver. It does not mean it did not exist if it was not received." Courage of Fear, Barbara Boyer
This by far is one of my greatest of all enlightenment and therefore one of my most prized quotes from my novel, Courage of Fear. It had been, and sometimes still can be, the one area of a serene life that causes me the most pain and indeed the most pleasure (can one have one without the other?)... and like so many other things, I find a common bond there with…

"Throughout our journey, many people will fly in and out of our lives. What glorious feathers they will leave behind! " Courage of Fear, Barbara Boyer
I hung on to that relationship like no other in my entire life. I fought hard for its survival and once beaten and torn I was forced to admit defeat. He was gone and gone for good this time. Unable to accept its ending I didn't believe life could get any worse.
It was very early in the morning in California when i heard my daughter's frightened…

"We should live everyday as if it were everyone else's last." Courage of Fear, Barbara Boyer
www.beboyer.com
We became great friends fast, Robert and me. We met through mutual friends sometime after 9/11 (so, if you have read previous posts you understand my state of mind at the time.) He was a tall, lanky guy with hair down to his shoulder blades. His face aged and rutted; you could truly see the life he lived right there defined on his weathered face.
"Idaho Bob" he was called by many; a poe…

"God's will for us is to have peace, joy, fulfillment and love. Whatever that is for us, that is what He wants for us. Remember, He knows our hearts. Do we?" Courage of Fear
That's right folks, I am a Jungian. Maybe that is so because Freud was hooked on cocaine and penis'. Maybe because through practice it was my experience that success follows those who followed Jung's teachings and beliefs. Who knows? It was a sad day for Sigmund when Carl went his own way. But boy am I glad he did. If you r…

There must be something to this transparency thing, 'cause I almost understand - I think I recognize fairer practices - The Credit Card Holders Bill of Rights - the credit card rules and regulations changes on the Senate floor as we speak. These changes, if implemented and controlled, may help to balance the economic imbalances that exist now. Gee, I am surprised = they are not getting as much attention in the media as I would have imagined.
These changes are mighty and not happening soon en…

When I found out I was officially nominated for The Mother of All Bloggers contest I was so happy and then kind of mortified because in order to win, I have to tell you all what my "Mom Logic" is. My response to that is "Um, what?" I know there are tons of books, websites, and even blogs devoted to this unexpected and un-perfected art that tout secrets and formulas for getting to be "the best mommy ever" down to a scie…

I've never been good at writing to a prompt, so the Mother of All Bloggers vague "write about your mom logic," idea was hard for me to grasp. It was challenging for me as a writer and as a mom, but in the end, I love my story. It's so true. It's so me. You can read it

Dictionary.com defines logic as “a particular method of reasoning or argumentation”…
There are times when I feel that there seems to be NO logic at all to my parenting style; however, I am reminded - time & time again - that when it comes to MY mom logic, well, I must be doing something right. Sure, there are a gazillion and one books out there on how to raise your child, what to feed them, what they should do, what you should do...blah, blah, blah...but when it comes down to it, YOU are yo…
