As a Christian in business, I am bound to a different set of principles compared to those of a traditional business owner. For example, my mission statement, the vision for my company, and company name and/or company description all has a biblical foundation. Other business owners may be money, power, or…

My grandmother was a breast cancer survivor. She had a mastectomy at a time when I was too young to even understand what that meant. I am now 38 and acutely aware of what it means as we honor Breast Cancer Awareness Month. My grandmother outlived her cancer, dying of natural causes, and I know many of you who are taking care of your elders or dear friends are praying for the same outcome.
Not too long ago I was introduced to a few remarkable women who created the TNBC foundation in honor of a d…

Just couldn't stand the silence. My thoughts nagged at me like a pebble in my shoe.
I tried to meditate. Sit quiet. Be still. My thinking taunted, screamed, rediculed.
I fought, shook my head, vigorously shaking away the cacophany of noise threating to steal the peace I craved.
I took some deep relaxing breaths.
I was determined to focus. Focus. FOCUS!
Choose a scripture, I told myself. Psalm 23. Good.
I began to recite it quietly. By rote.
Had I really been listening to what I was saying?
My mi…

he has a vicious tongue and is always in foul mood. he can't stand to see you sit quiet or laugh or bond with anyone else. he hates everyone and everything...he says so daily. he hates his life and you for being in it.
you speak , he screams, mocks, derides, and ridicules. you go silent.
you try, he laughs and asks you why, what's the use, you're too stupid to succeed anyway.
you do, he undoes... everything he possibly can.
you give up, he's satisfied, but not for long, because then you don'…

Okay so I get on a too crowded bus, tired and praying for a seat. I had caught the bus to another area in my town to a park beside a lake to take a breezy walk. The walk was great and would usually energize me, but the sun was so hot, and I didn't have my hat or umbrella or shades. Needless to say my enthusiasm to get out of the house in a hurry was not well prepared. So by the time I'd done my two laps on the walking path around the lake, I was burnt inside and out. I had to wait a half an hour…

Last week I shared about one of my biggest fears - that my kids won't have a solid foundation in faith. We also talked a little about the importance of not only regularly reading God's Word ourselves, but sharing the stories of the Bible with out children. Here…

There was a little girl, who had a little curl
right in the middle of her forehead
and when she was good, she was very very good
but when she was bad, she was horrid!
What is it with the way we women feel about our own race?
Consider this:
Women I know (including me) who were wary when they found out that pink bows were in their future. I was so panicked when I found out I was having Cameron that Dave had to remind me in the ultrasound room, "Relax. She's not going to come out thirteen…

Tomorrow's numerology's day for action - a #8 Universal - today's #7 Universal Day is for observing and analyzing. It's women in the news...Michelle, Sarah, Nadya, Megan, Carla, Salma - a few notable names that pop up with the seven unknown names of Polish and French young women prisoners of Auschwitz who penciled a note, cemented it in a wall September 1944, 65 years ago, in the hope of being remembered.
While reinforcing a cement wall, on a work crew for the Nazis, seven courageous wome…

Words fail me when we live in a world where this is not a crime. The Saudi judge Sheikh Habib Al-Habib denied the 8 year old’s petition for the second time, first a divorce and then an annulment. He did make one concession, that the 47 year old husband sign a document that he would n…

I looked at the Momlogic article
“Memo to the World: Black Mothers Matter Too!” and just got disgusted with the same ole racially charged argument. I get so tired of the Black vs. White issue; you'd think that there are no other ethnic groups in this country. I really don't care what color anybody’s skin is, it is so irrelevant, especially to those of us under 40 who spent many an hour in school being indoctrin…

One of our loyal readers complained that we were being too lenient with men and said that we were ‘too soft on them because of your low expectations’. More specifically, she believed Lee was too easy on them. Because we have not reached a level of fame to ignore the opportunity to suck up to someone, we will revisit the subject of Men and Lee will be allowed to let loose on the male of the species.
Lee says: When my friend Hinchey talks, I listen. I guess you can say that I respect her and ulti…
