I receive hundreds of e-mails a year from women who want to write a book, or a blog. Where do I start? Is it even possible? Who would want to read what I write?
Great questions!
If you want to write, then start writing. Make it a daily discipline. Journal. Blog. Write a page, or 500 words. Why? Because writing is hard work, and it has to be more than a dream. It has to be a practice, a part of your life.

When Dissertation Troubles Surrounded Me:
This is an appreciative letter to thank the people who provided pin-point and professional
UK dissertation writing help at the time when I was totally disappointed and had braced myself to meet the disaster regarding my PhD degree. It was the worst time of my life when I even thought of my dissertation disapproval.
I was busy working and handling my social life. You can say that I was hanging in balan…

Summer is nearly here and with it comes family vacations. When my kids were little I always looked forward to these vacations. We would load up the RV and be gone for 3 to 4 weeks seeing the country. RVs work great for vacations if you have kids. I did not know this on our first family vacation so I booked a flight to Club Med. in the french west indies. We only had the girls then and they were 3, 4, and 8 years old, the perfect age for long flights and long layovers. What was I thinking!…

I got the book,
I Was a Really Good Mom Before I Had Kids: Reinventing Modern Motherhood by Trisha Ashworth and Amy Nobile, as a gift and was thrilled -- finally the real motherhood! Something about having a baby turned me into a truth-teller. "Love this top? No, I didn't get it at Nordstrom; it's pure T.J. Maxx, baby!"
But when I read this book, I found myself disagreeing with 75% of what the authors said. Really? A maid over sex?
The book is laid out more like a really long magazine a…

I've never been good at writing to a prompt, so the Mother of All Bloggers vague "write about your mom logic," idea was hard for me to grasp. It was challenging for me as a writer and as a mom, but in the end, I love my story. It's so true. It's so me. You can read it
here!

Say Hello to The Creativity Coach!
My coaching practice and my website have been in hiatus for several months. I truly appreciate my clients (and potential clients) for being so patient with my reconstruction. As I am always committed to bringing you closer to your inspired life, I had to take into consideration my own inspiration. I spent the latter half of 2008 re-crafting my authentic life plan to understand what kind of coach I was truly me…

I hate tobacco smoke. I hate the way it smells, the way it permeates my clothes and hair, and especially the way it kills. But in this season of my life as a caregiver, cigarette smoke has taken on a new and positive role-as a way to communicate with my terminally-ill sister, Gail.
The doctor gave us the bad news six days before Christmas. There was nothing more they could do and my sister had "weeks to months" to live. Three days later my sister and mother moved in with my husband and me. Toge…

Okay, I know the title is corny, but I'm desperate. Many writers say the serial comma is passé. Well, you tell me if you think a little comma would have clarified this phrase, reportedly taken from a book dedication: "To my parents, Mother Teresa and Pope John Paul II." Say what?
Could the writer really be the unclaimed offspring of Mother Teresa and Pope John Paul II? I don't think so! Can you see that a serial comma (one placed after Mother Teresa) would have made the writer's intent clear?…

Mary is the daughter of Aidan and Cindee McKenzie, and Aidan is the Executive Director of the non-profit organization,

Kayleen Reusser pursued a dream to write. Then she discovered that she was assigned to write a book about a young country singer named Taylor Swift. Surprisingly, she didn't even know who Taylor was, but now she knows all about her. In fact, she's the author of a newly released biography writte…

Ahhh...the melody of words. Don't you love it? Melodic writing truly is music to the ears.
But the melody I want to talk about today isn't necessarily created through the use of lyrical, literary, or eloquent words. It's the rhythm of a well-crafted sentence, created when we develop an ear for the beat.
Here are two versions each of four passages, none of which would be considered eloquent, and yet I believe they demonstrate varying levels of music through the beat. Which do…

You may not believe this, but I know it for a fact: God talks on the telephone.
Many years ago, I was putting together a talk on having a gentle spirit. As usual, I searched my concordance for appropriate verses and found many that applied to both men and women. But since I was preparing to speak to women, I typed 1 Peter 3:3-4 into my notes and then wrote, "Ladies, we must pray earnestly and daily for a gentle and quiet spirit." (Hang in there with me, men...this is going to…

Infertility is difficult. In terms of mental health, research shows it ranks up there with a cancer diagnosis.
Identifying and expressing our emotions is just one of the ways we can cope. To encourage reflection, celebrate strength and tenacity, and maybe even laugh, My Fertility Plan announces the launch of the 1st Annual International Infertility Haiku Contest.
Why haiku? Anyone can do it. A haiku is a three line poem, made up of only 17 syllables. The first line has 5 syllables. The second…

Hi, writers! I can't wait for you to hear from my friend, Jenny L. Cote. But before you do, let me tell you a little about her. Jenny and I met at the Blue Ridge Mountains Christian Writers Conference a few years ago, before she ever had a book contract--and wait till you see what she's done!
In her new fantasy series, The Amazing Tales of Max and LizTM, Jenny beautifully blends her passions for God, history, and young people as she takes heroes Max and Liz through pivotal points in Biblical an…

The final days of October are upon us. Although this week may present its share of costume debacles and battles for remaining bags of Snack Size candy (all which will promptly become 75% off on Nov 1st), there are some other scary events around the blogosphere to consider before Halloween.
Are you a blog addict? Are you incapable of sipping your first cup of coffee before checking your Reader? Do people in your life live with the realization that all embarrassing moments and dialogue are fair g…

One of my biggest problems with writing is me making it a priority. I put everything else before it. When I started
SORMAG, I thought it would feed my need to write, but it didn’t. The characters still work me up from my sleep. However I haven’t pushed writing to the top of the list.
Last week I asked myself what was something I wanted to do before I die. Seeing my name on the book spine has been a goal for years. However with my aunt’s death, it made me…

Well, this is my first official blog post. Oh sure, as a seasoned writer and one gets paid, sometimes, to do so, I have written my fair share of articles. But the blogging, sharing, pouring-your-heart-out-to-strangers concept is one that has left me wanting. Until now.
So what made me take to the web to share with strangers? Well, for one, my husband and I have a beautiful 3 year-old son who amazes and touches us everyday. And he is pretty damn funny when he is not infuriating. So I want to doc…
