I may not be the best mom out there but at least I try...
It's sad that I look at my now 10 month old and know that in 4 years she will not have been through the hell that my 4 year old "step"daughter has. And hopefully she will never go through it in any point of her life. I'm not saying that I am an amazing mom but at least I try and take pride in being a mother. With this my daughter already has a better chance, won't have to listen to drama and refer to people by very adult terms at the age…

I really am beginning to feel like I will shortly be carrying the entire burden of the family. I am waiting on a call from a company for when to start a night job and am still looking for another part time opportunity. I got laid off in January and just now my husband is searching for a part time job because I guess a lightbulb went off and he realizes we need more than what we are bringing in. Nevermind the fact that I am in the process of starting a nonprofit organization and intent to go back…

So as my daughter is on the verge of her first birthday in September I keep thinking that I want another child. Badly. We are planning on having another in 4 to 5 years but I almost don't want to wait that long. Okay I don't want to there is no ALMOST.
I had an IUD put in so I would have to go get it taken out to even start trying again, that's not really my roadblock. With the economy how it is and the fact that I just got a job again after being laidoff I almost feel selfish for wanting anoth…

Since waking up today at 7AM I have not stopped completely feeling the effects of the spring allergies. At the moment my throat is scratchy and irritated, and I have been sneezing on and off all flippin day!! I love this nice clean sunny weather but these allergies are the pits!
I'm off to bed. Gonna take some tylenol and hit the hay.
Nite world!

So last night after checking a ton of Twitter stuff, updating my Facebook, reworking my blog, and checking on Momlogic I got to wondering where would my life be without social networking? Seriously. Would I still be in contact with half the people I now have idle chats with during the day? Would I have found people through sites like Momlogic or would I be navigating through motherhood through my friends who already have been there? It's a daunting thing to think that Facebook was only started 5…

How did I get so hooked on reality television? Seriously. In the past week all I have been watching or DVRing is reality tv! I watched The Biggest Loser while DVRing 18 Kids and Counting which I will watch tomorrow in between the other reality I watch during the day.
Here's a rundown of a typical day of reality watching:
9am---The Today Show
11am---Deliver Me: Home Edition
2pm---Adoption Stories
3pm---Dr. Phil
4pm---Oprah
Granted The Today Show, Dr. Phil and Oprah are "talk" shows they serve…

Dakota now has a tooth, I didn't notice it until she gnawed on me yesterday. I should have noticed though because after I picked her up she seemed very fascinated with her bottom lip and was licking her gums. She has also been gnawing on her bottle and pacifier a lot more lately. I really can't be sure how long she has had the tooth, maybe a few days or maybe just since yesterday. I'm excited and there are definitely more coming in!
Last night after my hubby came home he surveyed the tooth and…

So I just returned from an interview and I have the job, pending a background check, which doesn't worry me in the least. So within 2 weeks I will be working mostly nights and the baby will be going to daycare one day a week. Although I took a pretty substantial paycut with the cut in daycare and in my daily commute and such it will all balance out. Sometimes this is what needs to be done to achieve more. Dr. Phil actually did a whole show on this a week ago and you just have to do things that w…

Fridays in general always seem to be aggravating. I wish I could explain why. Today the baby who ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS naps at 10 and 1, didn't take a first nap til almost 2! Thankfully she slept for a good 2 hours and I was able to sleep for almost half that.
It was bad enough that before we took a run to the bank to pay my car payment that she tumbled off the bed. She's fine was just a bit startled. I think I was in worse shape then she was afterwards. So no more hanging out on the bed while I…

So since I was laid off I have been trying to go back to school to get a more practical degree---I hold a degree in Journalism but it's not quite practical money wise right now. And my first 3 weeks or so on unemployment I went to a technical school and talked to their then admissions person who at first seemed very eager to help but after a week of back and forth she more than fell short when she refused to sign my section 30 which is the form needed so the state can pay for me to go back to sc…

So recently we have been trying to slowly incorporate more food into our 8 month old's diet. With the help of our sitter we have been able to balance her daily nutrition intake between both baby formula and baby food. She is now successfully able to have a bottle when she wakes up at 630am go back to bed and have a solid food breakfast! Today I was able to feed her rice cereal and bananas and she was quite content. Trust me if she's not completely full she won't take her morning nap and fuss unt…

After a weekend of both external and internal debate I have decided to not take a job that's during the day hence cutting daycare down from 175 a week to 35 a week(she'd now be going for only one day, when I find a workable night job) and that I would be finally actively be pursuing what my parents paid tons of money for me to do---write! I'm excited, nervous, anxious all at once. I love to write hence why I blog. And just hope to find a job to make enough that we'll be okay and with the decreas…

Why is it that my SD accepts me, her mother's side of the family seems to understand and doesn't talk shit but SDs biomom still can't accept that I am here.
Well sorry if I care enough about her to contact her school's principal to voice my concerns when you don't even care about her schooling and don't share any info with my husband about it. I'm sorry that at 3 she wasn't potty trained so I took it upon myself to do it so she wouldn't be made fun of at said school. I'm sorry I gave birth to h…

Okay maybe not rest but some time to myself. I've been spending the entire morning communicating with my SDs school and trying to find information for if this IEP doesn't go smoothly. I was able to contact the principal at her school and voiced our concerns and she has promised to get back in touch when she is able to gather enough information of why things have been going the way they have and she will now also be at the meeting. My persuasive writing skills in action!
While doing this my 8 mo…
