Along with a lot of other fabulous mom bloggers I've been nominated for Mother of All Bloggers right here on momlogic.
Once we received our nominations we were asked to write a blog post about our 'mom logic'.
I would love for you to read my post from yesterday on my personal blog ( A day in my life ... ) and let me know what you think:
Recently I have noticed ‘experts… Continue
Okay, I'm jumping on the bandwagon at the last minute. Who wants to nominate me? Pretty please, with a cherry on top. There are only 3 days left and I need 10 nominations.
All you have to do is visit my page on momlogic and type 'I nominate you for Mother of all Bloggers'. That's it. Copy and paste it if you like :) Continue
I'm overwhelmed with gratitude. You've had busy little fingers sending me countless requests. I'm feeling very popular and loved. Cause you are just sending these requests to me right, because you love me and nobody else, and you want me to be your top friend and in your circle of moms and you truly do think I'm the coolest person.
I'd like to start by sending you a belated thank you for all the gifts. Truly lovely. Especially the cupcakes. My real life butt might have to do without them… Continue
I love my evening television. There is nothing better than tucking the kids into bed and curling up on the couch ... ALONE ... watching my favorite programs while indulging in a few not so healthy snacks and a cup of tea. That is my time. Time when I don't have to watch cartoons (with thanks to the twins) or wrestling (the teenager's program of choice). I love me some drama. A whole lot of drama.
So guess what is returning on the 26th of January ...

So not only are the CPSIA trying to impose a ban on all handmade items for children under the age of 12 (unless they have been through strict testing) BUT they are now trying to ban the sale of second hand items too, unless you can prove that they have been tested.
Okay, don't get me wrong, I get it, really I do. So many products have been recalled of late, and maybe there are parents wh… Continue
and so this is the letter you will be receiving from me in the mail.
To whom it may concern.
Today is New Years Eve. Today I promised my children I would take them to Sea World. You see, their dad is on a year long deployment. They didn’t get to spend their birthdays, Thanksgiving or Christmas with him. They won’t see him to ring in the new year, give him a hug on Valentine’s day or egg hunt with him at Easter. I thought this would be a wonderful treat for them.
So why write to you? Well you… Continue
There is a member of momlogic who needs your help, prayers and support. I'm not sure if you have 'friended' her but here is her profile. Jessica is a beautiful friend, amazing mother, a loving wife and so much more. I'm proud to say that she is my friend.
From reading her page what you won't find out about Jessica is that one of her little 2 year old twins Tuesday has been fighting Stage 4 Neuroblastoma.
Tuesday was diagnosed canc… Continue
Why is it that ...
the day you decide to stay in your pajamas (without a bra on), the delivery man, mailman, neighbors and repair men will all show up unexpectedly.
the day you wear your old, torn underwear because you are a little behind in the laundry, you will fall ill or something will happen that means a visit to a doctor or hospital.
the day you are not on top of the dishes, haven't packed up the daycare center toys or vacuumed and mopped the floors, half of your neighborhood wil… Continue
In 63 days it is going to become illegal to sell handmade toys in the U.S. unless they have been tested. Testing comes at a high price for those stay at home mums and crafters who put a lot of love and hard work into what they make and sell through places like Etsy and local Farmers Markets. They have earned their buyers trust and certainly do not make enough to cover the high costs associated with these tests.
Please visit the Handmade Toys Allianc… Continue
There is nothing that I love more in the cold weather than curling up on the couch in my pj's, with a glass of wine and my knitting, watching movies.
I have been setting my DVR for the past couple of days to record all of the children's holiday movies. You know Dr Seuss, Shrek the Halls, A Charlie Brown Christmas. These I'll watch with the kids throughout Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
For me though, I'll be recording some classics. I was most excited to learn this week that… Continue

Yesterday was a day for giving thanks. Thanks for the people we have in our lives. Thanks for having a roof over our head. Thanks for having food to eat. Today, there are a family, friends and co-workers in mourning. Next year they will not be able to give thanks for having that person in their life.
When did human life become less important than scoring a bargain?
When did it become okay to leave your morals under your pillow when you wake?
This morning a worker at Wal-mart in Long Island wa… Continue

There is so much you can do this holiday season and year round to help the environment. Instead of purchasing expensive gift wrap, ribbons and embellishments that most likely cannot be recycled, why not try re-using, recycling and going hand-made.
I've put together a list with a plethora of ideas. You are sure to find something that you can do to help the environment. Just click the link below.

A blogger friend of mine Robyn at Craft & Found is truly amazing. She's always warming little babies with hand-made hats and blankets and gives so generously to people in need.
She's put out a call for gently used items for babies and kids. Here is an excerpt from an email I received from her today.
"A local Omaha organization, Mosaic Community Development, works closely with the poor in the Omaha area. they've expressed a serious need for kid and ba… Continue

Why is being a teenager so hard? Why must kids be so cruel?
My middle schooler was walking around like a lost puppy tonight looking very sad. I thought it had something to do with an earlier disagreement that we had, over him not cleaning his room.
He eventually sat on the floor in the laundry with his back to the door and cried. He cried because ignorant children at his school have been picking on him. Not just picking on him recently either. They have been picking on him for a few years.
Yo… Continue
A couple of nights ago we had my eldest son's back to school night. We walked to the school in an attempt at saving gas and helping me exercise (I will lose weight one day, I hope). As we were leaving the classroom it was already dark and a friend of his asked if we would mind walking him home (a request from his dad) because his dad's car was being repaired. Not a problem at all. Walking a couple of extra blocks would do me good. It was getting a little chilly though and the babies weren't rugg… Continue

Well, I would have it (Pregancy test) in a gift bag with other baby items. Or I will have his favorite items (Snacks and candies) and then give it to him after eating his favorite meal.
CONGRATS!! I would leave the pregnancy test somewhere around the house that you know he'll look. Then he'll take it from there. That's what I'll do. lol
