Should I Let My 5-Year-Old Watch Lindsay Lohan Movies?

"The Parent Trap" is playing incessantly on cable right now, and my daughter loves it. In fact, she has watched it four times. But now that all the rumors of Lindsay Lohan anorexia have me worried.

Is it really appropriate that I'm letting my kindergartener watch Lindsay Lohan movies -- even if they were shot when she was 10?

What do you think?

I think it is acceptable and innocent- so long as you don't point out the name of the actress and her negative press. How would a five year old make that connection by herself?

My opinion is, unless she's seeing and knowing that that is the same girl now (I think that pic is totally photo-shopped btw she may be anorexic but I don't believe for a second that is a real photo) that is in the Parent Trap movie, I wouldn't worry about it. I love the Parent Trap movie and I've watched it several times w/ my kids, it does not bother me at all. Kids watch WAY too much TV these days anyway, if she's a kindergartener there's no way she should be watching a channel or website that tells her that's what Lindsay looks like now. I have a 5 yr old daughter who's in Kindergarten as well. If I were you, I'd relax, turn off the TV and go play catch in the backyard or something. It's not worth stressing over.

DON'T DO IT.....

I have a problem with allowing my children to watch images on telivision (esp. since the Chris Brown and Rihanna drama) that don't reflect how they are for real.

I mean I know that we are all human but seriously, "Can someone please FEED Lindsay?" How can I tell my 8 year old daughter that's her girl all grown up and DYING from hunger.

Its tough but We as Mothers are going to have to work on being our kids role-mommies. Celebrities kids are going crazy.

Yikes! The Parent Trap is such a fun movie, however, I don't see anything wrong with it. I guess you could talk about the fact that actresses on the screen aren't always the best role models. Moms are!

JEEZ. This photo is frightening. I really do think it's okay for her to watch "Parent Trap." I agree with Jackie- great discussion topic with the little ones and "old Lindsay" is a great example of a "healthy, happy, normal" girl.
