Swine Flu Concerns? Good info from Seattle Children's Hospital

Seattle Children's Hospital offers great information for parents and child care providers on Swine Flu. Many parents of course are frightened by the thought of their child being infected. Here's some tips from them along with their link for lots of great specific information.

Please seek emergency assistance if your child experiences any of the following:

Fast breathing or trouble breathing
Bluish skin color
Not drinking enough fluids
Not waking up or not interacting
Being so irritable that the child does not want to be held
Flu-like symptoms improve but then return with fever and worse cough
Fever with a rash
Precautionary measures to prevent the spread of swine flu include:

Washing your hands often with soap and warm water. Alcohol-based hand cleansers are also effective. Children should sing their ABCs twice in a row while washing their hands to ensure the proper length of time.
Avoiding people who are ill.
Staying home from work or school if you are sick.
Using tissue when you cough, sneeze or spit, and dispose of the tissue in a covered trash bin.
Keeping hands away from your face. Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth.
Cleaning shared space more often such as phone receivers, keyboards, steering wheels and office equipment.
Refraining from sharing personal items such as forks, spoons, toothbrushes and towels.
